This article will walk you through each column in our property template to ensure a smooth and accurate bulk upload process. By following this guide, you will be able to correctly fill out each required and optional field, minimizing errors and ensuring all necessary property information is included.
1. MultiUnit ID column (Optional) :
- This is used to link/add a subunit to a multi-unit property already created in your ManageCasa account.
-
NOTE: To get the MultiUnit ID of the property:
- Go to Properties/Property Units → Select the multi-unit property → In the URL address, you'll see the MultiUnit ID, which is a combination of letters and numbers, usually 7 characters long (see screenshot below for reference).
2. Unit ID column (Optional) :
- Use this to update the information of an existing property in your account.
- NOTE: You can get the Unit ID the same way you get the MultiUnit ID mentioned above. For subunits, when you open the profile of a subunit, the URL address will show you two IDs. The first one will be the Unit ID of the parent property (multi-unit building), and the second one will be the Unit ID of the subunit.
3. Property Type column (Required) :
- Indicate the type of property by selecting from the available options.
- NOTE: If you need to create a single condo unit, choose "Condo." If you own or manage multiple condo units or the entire condo building, select "Multi-Unit Residential". For more details on the difference between multi-unit and non-multi-unit options, visit this article: Bulk Upload Properties: FAQs.
4. Property Name column (Optional) :
- Use this field if you prefer to display your property by name rather than by address line in your ManageCasa account. For example, if you want your multi-unit building to appear as "Building A" instead of the address line – "111 Elm Street", fill this field in accordingly.
5. Address Line1, Address City, Address State, and Address ZipCode columns (Required) :
- Enter the complete address of the property; Address Line2 is optional.
- NOTE: For addresses outside the US, if you're unsure about the correct "Address State", you can try to manually create a dummy property in your ManageCasa account. Enter the address details, and a dropdown with address suggestions should appear. Select the correct address from the dropdown to auto-fill the city, state, and zip code. You can then use the suggested state in the template.
6. Bank Account column (Required) :
- Indicate the bank account(s) that will be used for tagging transactions related to the property.
-
NOTE: If you use multiple bank accounts, separate them with commas. And ensure that the bank account(s) you list are already set up in your ManageCasa account. If not, create them first by following this article: Setting up your bank account.
- Disclaimer: Creating a bank account in the system does not actually connect the account, it is for recording purposes only.
7. Owner Name column (Optional) :
- Use this field to tag the owner(s) of the property.
- NOTE: If there are multiple owners, separate their names with commas. If the name you listed does not exist in your contact list, it will be automatically created as a property owner in the system. So be cautious of typos.
8. Owner Email column (Optional) :
- Use this field to tag the owner(s) of the property by their email addresses.
- NOTE: If you have already filled out the Owner Name field, you do not need to fill this out as well. This field is particularly useful if you have two or more property owners with the same name but have different email addresses.
- NOTE: And just like with the Owner Name field, you can separate multiple email addresses with commas. And if the email you listed does not exist in your contact list, it will also be automatically created as a property owner in the system.
9. Unit Number column (Required; with condition) :
- Enter the unit number of the property.
- NOTE: This field is required only for subunits.
10. Bedrooms, Bathrooms, and Size columns (Optional) :
- Enter the number of bedrooms and bathrooms for the property. The size is measured in square feet (SQFT) by default.
11. Unit Type (Required; with condition) :
- Indicate the type of subunits by selecting from the available options.
-
NOTE: This field is required only for subunits. Choose the appropriate subunit type based on the multi-unit building category:
