Background Check for Applicants

ManageCasa in partnership with TransUnion provides a tailored Tenant screening service designed specifically for Property Owners and Property Managers.

The embedded TransUnion service allows access to comprehensive credit, criminal, and eviction histories of potential tenants, along with personalized leasing recommendations, enabling faster and more informed decision-making processes.

How to use the TransUnion Background Check feature for individual Applicants

1. Navigate to Applicants Section: From the dashboard, locate and click on the "Applicants" or "Applications" section in the menu. This will take you to a list of all current applications or applicants.
2. Select Applicant: Choose the applicant for whom you'd like to initiate the background check. You can either select an existing application or create a new one for the applicant.
3. Initiate Background Check: Within the applicant's profile or application form, look for the Background Check section, there is an option to turn on this option.

4. Select whether you would prefer to do the Background Check only after you have reviewed the application. By default, the Background Check happens after the payment step of an application.

5. Choose Background Check Options: Upon selecting the background check option, you'll be presented with various choices and settings. Decide whether you want to include criminal history, eviction proceedings, income verification, or other additional checks provided by TransUnion. Select the options that best suit your screening criteria.

6. Enter the Default Rent amount and the Application Fee if you plan on charging any. You may also link your bank account for the debiting of the fees. 

The system will give you a breakdown of the fees related to the background checks.
